June has been a busy month for The Garden Church. We elected Rev. Dave Brown to serve as a part time pastor alongside me, and I was elected as Lead Pastor. Last Sunday we held our transition service, and Rev. Jonathan gave his last sermon for us as Acting Co-Pastor ahead of his retirement at the end of this month. And if that weren't enough, the Annual Convention of the Church of the New Jerusalem begins Saturday in Long Beach! We are thrilled that our founding Pastor Rev. Anna Woofenden is the Convention preacher this year. Last month I had the opportunity to visit a butterfly pavillion with my children. While there we discovered a butterfly with a broken wing. It could still fly, but not as well as the other butterflies. My eldest son named it "happy" because we all reasoned this was about the safest place for a broken-winged butterfly to be. This Sunday we will also complete our sermon series on healing, while pondering how God can grant wholeness even when we are still broken. Come as you are, stay as you are able. All Are Welcome.
