The Forest and the Trees

Writer's picture: The Garden ChurchThe Garden Church

April has brought us so much green in the garden thanks to the rains of March. We are very much enjoying Earth Month so far and we are excited to celebrate in just over a week. Feed and be Fed has been hard at work designing and soliciting art for a youth art contest. The art will be displayed at Pixels Studio during the Earth Day Fair which is 1pm-4pm on Saturday, April 20, 2024. The fair will have earth friendly food, and booths. The special features are 1) a rain barrel give away! (Sign Up Here) and the winners of the Youth Art Contest will be announced.

Then on Sunday, April 21st we've got our Interfaith Earth Day Service in the garden at 4pm. We will continue the tree theme with reflections on trees from several religious perspectives. The service promises to be a meaningful time together. Rev. Dave will speak on the Tree of Life from the Swedenborg perspective.

But first--this Sunday we will continue the sermon series Pastor Connie began last week with roots. This Sunday our series titled "Interconnected: The Tree of Life" continues by moving up the tree to the trunk. We will spend time in reflection on trees, trunks and our faith.

We look forward to seeing you in the Garden!

In Faith,

Rev. Amanda

What We mean when We say All Are Welcome:

At The Garden Church we intentionally welcome all. We do this without requiring adherence to any religious belief or creed. We foster a climate of purposeful inclusion, an environment where all can feel safe, valued, cared for, and given an opportunity to form meaningful connections with the Divine and each other. We cherish the diversity of humanity, a diversity which includes differences in sex, age, race, ethnicity, and national origin, range of abilities, sexual orientation, gender identity, financial means, education, and political perspective.

We are also a member Congregation of the Pacific Coast Association of the Swedenborgian Church of North America
