Prayer through Song
As summer wears on the tomatoes are getting bigger, the sunflowers are bursting into more and blossoms and today we spotted a happy loofa sprout heading up the wall. Two mornings each week the Feed and be Fed volunteers gather in the garden to pull weeds, turn compost, plant seeds and tend the plants. Open Garden time is beautiful and fun and a great chance to grow community.
Last week as part of growing community we co-hosted the San Pedro Chamber of commerce along with our neighbors Blend and BeFriend. We had a wonderful time welcoming members of the community many of whom were first visitors to the garden. Highlights included veggie paella made with fresh produce from the garden, and taiko drumming!
Continuing our sermon series this Sunday Sunday on prayer we will spend time practicing prayer through song. Focusing on music from the Ecumenical Tazié Community in France we will have a time of prayerful singing and chanting together in community. We hope you can join us for this time of intentional prayer practice.
In Faith,
Rev. Amanda
