Sacred Movement

Earlier this summer my family and I attended an Arangatram. A recital but of sacred dance from the Hindu tradition. It was an incredible, beautiful intricate evening filled with color, music and movement all in honor of the Hindu gods.

In the West we sometimes forget that one of the ways to pray is with our whole bodies through dance. With the exception of liturgical dance, and mabe some Holy Spirit dancing, we don't typically dance in church.

This Sunday as part of our prayer series church member Sarah Rothe Ruiz will lead us through a few simple movement based prayer practices from a variety of traditions. Come and experience embodied prayer in a new way.

But first--tonight join Pastor Connie for Theological Thursday at 7pm at Sunken City Books (the corner of 6th and Mesa).

In Faith,

Rev. Amanda
