Our Daily Bread

Today marks he first day of summer! The change of seasons invites us to look around and notice what's changed. In the garden our summer crops are growing big and strong. The zucchini blossoms are big bright and yellow in all their glory and we're watching each tomato ready to pounce on the first ripe one!

A nearby Lutheran Church is between pastors and I am filling by leading their children's preschool chapel service on Tuesday mornings. Each week we pray the Lord's Prayer together and last week when we got to the part that says "and give us this day our daily bread" a 4 year old in front of me added "and jelly." It is such a gift to be around children and remember that in God's eyes we are all children. Beloved little ones with a lot to learn and a sincere eagerness that can be charming and endearing. We also make mistakes as everyone learning does. This Sunday we are continuing our walk through the Lord's Prayer with the following section "Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us." Together we will spend time reflecting on what it means to have our daily needs met, through our daily bread and our spiritual and interpersonal needs met through forgiving and being forgiven.

Come as you are, stay as you are able and we look forward to seeing you in the garden!

In Faith,

Rev. Amanda
