This Sunday we are continuing our Perspectives sermon series with Liberation Theology. Liberation Theology grew primarily from Latin American Roman Catholicism and emphasizes liberation from social, political and economic oppression as part of salvation. Our sermon this Sunday will be delivered by our very own Linda O’Brien-Rothe. She has been an avid gardener for many years. She was delighted to accepted leadership in the Garden Church’s garden around six years ago. Linda has a background in music, also in work with the Maryknoll Sisters in Guatemala, and now spends most of her free time with her grandchildren. We are looking forward to welcoming Linda to the pulpit as she brings God's word. This weekend also includes a special compost event--Pumpkin Smashing! Bring your pumpkins (carved or not) and we will smash 'em! Kids can also enjoy smashing pumpkins with tricycles, and remote controlled cars. 4pm-6pm in the garden on Saturday. It's a great event for all ages. Then join us this Sunday at the Garden Church as we continue to work together to make the Garden a welcoming and comfortable place for everyone.
