We have been blessed with a lot of rain recently, a much welcomed sight in the midst of time when 85% of our state is in drought or extreme drought. Water is an essential to every aspect of our lives, and at the Garden Church we frequently reflect on the essential nature of water and our responsibility when it comes to this precious resource. Each year, on the second weekend of January we as a church celebrate "Baptism of the Lord." It is the day we study and reflect on Jesus' baptism by his cousin John and what it means for us in our own lives. It was in Jesus' baptism that God said "You are my son, the beloved; with you I am well pleased." (Luke 3:22) It was in the moment Jesus emerged from the water that God named and claimed Jesus as his own. This Sunday we will reflect on our Spiritual connection to water and our physical need for water and the meaning of Baptism. In Faith, Rev. Amanda
