Forests and Baptism and Peace, Oh My!

Writer's picture: The Garden ChurchThe Garden Church

San Pedro is a buzz with preparations for Fleet Week this weekend. There will be 5,000 sailors descending on downtown San Pedro. Each year in addition to Fleet week there is Peace week run by our local peace groups. As in year's past we are also recognizing peace week. We are grateful for community partnerships that will help us celebrate this year.

Thank you for appreciating the TREE with us. From the roots, to the trunk, to the branches, to the leaves and the buds and the fruit - and listening to the interfaith ideas on trees, and learning about Pentecostal Pando, the largest tree of earth.  We have experienced and given thought to and fallen in love again with the Tree of Life! We welcome Peace Week with the POLA High Students decorating our gates for us on Thursday. On Friday our Little Sprouts will sing about Peace. This Sunday we incorporate care for the forests, with a guest sermon by POLA high teacher Rachel Bruhnke sharing words of peace and hope along with welcoming a new baby into our community.

Come make church with us, and make it a memorable, Memorial Day Weekend!

With Infinite Hope!

What We mean when We say All Are Welcome:

At The Garden Church we intentionally welcome all. We do this without requiring adherence to any religious belief or creed. We foster a climate of purposeful inclusion, an environment where all can feel safe, valued, cared for, and given an opportunity to form meaningful connections with the Divine and each other. We cherish the diversity of humanity, a diversity which includes differences in sex, age, race, ethnicity, and national origin, range of abilities, sexual orientation, gender identity, financial means, education, and political perspective.

We are also a member Congregation of the Pacific Coast Association of the Swedenborgian Church of North America
